About me

You must be really bored to click on this specific spot on my homepage, but let me reward you with some interesting information:

Hi, I'm Luu. I grew up in the Münsterland region, close to the Dutch border of Germany, a magic area where Schützenfeste and Cola-Korn are a thing and later moved to Hamburg to pursue a career in IT and web development. Thanks to my job, I had the amazing opportunity to work remotely in Spain, Netherlands, Thailand and Vietnam as a digital nomad. I currently reside in Hamburg, Germany (meine Perle).

I’ve always loved gaming consoles owned a Gameboy, NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2 but then switched to PC and built my first one at 11—a beast with an Intel Pentium II 400 MHz and a Riva TNT2. My early fascination with hardware led me to try my hand as a PC builder at a hardware store, then I tried my luck as an electrician, but I quickly realized it was too repetitive and not for me. So, I taught myself HTML, CSS, and a bit of PHP, then moved to Hamburg to start an apprenticeship as a Software Developer (FIAE).

After graduating and spending over half a decade in agencies primarily specializing in TYPO3, Symfony and Shopware, I almost burnt out, switched to an in-house position, and couldn't be happier since. Along the way, I've worked on a handful of mid-sized private and freelance projects, as well as big company projects for IKEA, YUM! Brands (KFC), Theo Müller Group (Müllermilch), Fielmann, Volkswagen, Futterhaus, ATOS, Sysmex, Stadt Wedel, KSP Kanzlei, and many more.

I'm also a passionate gamer and grew up with gems like Civilization, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Command & Conquer, Starcraft, Final Fantasy, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, World of Warcraft (Gruß an Stick n Loot!), and many more. I even drifted into the "gacha" game hell but luckily escaped, though I still have a soft spot for HoYoverse games (formerly miHoYo).

On this page, you'll find some personal, development, tech, and travel blogs. I hope they're fun to read and occasionally offer some useful information.
